DIY Deodorant

For many years now I’ve tried so many different store bought “natural” deodorants.  Especially with a family history of breast cancer if I can avoid any negative impact on my own health, I will.

I’ll be honest, some of them just don’t work!  In fact I think they may make you smell worse.  Let’s face it, it’s great if you can use a natural product but if it doesn’t work you’re not going to stick it out.  Pardon the pun  😀

This DIY deodorant works for me and hopefully it will work for you too.  Obviously everyone’s body is different and will react differently to products.  But if you’re looking to try out a natural deodorant, mix this one up and test’er out !

Ingredients:

1/4 cup baking soda

1/4 cup arrowroot powder (this looks like baking powder and can be found in bulk food stores)

About 6 Tbsp Coconut Oil (in it’s solid state)

Simply mix all ingredients in a bowl until combined very well.  Store in an airtight jar.  You can simply use your hands to apply, or if you want you can use an empty deodorant container and press it in to the container until full.  Use as you would normally.

Note: You could even add a few drops of an essential oil.
